The weekly inspirations for this year will focus on prayer. Have you ever wondered when prayer started? According to scripture, it began around the time that Adam’s son, Seth, had a son, Enosh.  At this time, men began to depend on God rather than their own self-reliance.

Prayer is a conversation. As in any conversation, there is a time for talking and a time for listening, and so it is in our relationship with God. Perhaps this year, more than ever, we can listen for God’s voice, inspiration, and guidance.

Prayer:  Almighty God, creator of the universe and all therein, my heart is filled with gratitude for the beginning of another year. I humbly ask you to fill my heart and mind with the knowledge of your majesty, justice, and mercy. Guide me into the New Year, empower me to live an honorable life, and help me to be a blessing to those around me. In the precious name of Jesus, Amen.
