For he has not despised or scorned the suffering of the afflicted one; he has not hidden his face from him but has listened to his cry for help.  Psalm 22:24

God always hears us. And when we are in pain, God is in pain too. We are his creation, and he loves us. He desires that we have a healthy, abundant, and spirit-filled life. But he also knows that life holds many pitfalls and times of struggle for us. It is our choice to call out to God for salvation or try to maneuver life on our own.

The psalmist knew, and we can know, that regardless of what life deals us, God is there to empower us, to resurrect us, and to transform us. We can be assured that God’s power never fails us, if we believe God and trust in his faithfulness.

Prayer:  Almighty God, open my mind and heart to your faithfulness so that I will not doubt that you always hear me. Amen.
