Third Sunday of Advent
Psalm 95:1
Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.
Joy is a feeling of great happiness or delight. How do we find joy in a world that is filled with the problems that we all face on a daily basis?
There is a profound joy deep within our spirits that is present in a strong relationship with God. When we have God as our stronghold—our rock and our foundation—we have nothing to fear. We are empowered through God’s power to push beyond our difficulties to experience a life that is happy, joyous, and free.
There will always be days of despair and disappointment. No one is exempt. However, there will also be days full of joy and happiness—a child’s laugh, a family celebration, or a declaration of love. Let us celebrate this Advent and Christmas season with joy in our hearts and a song on our lips. In this moment, God is revealed to each of us through the birth of the Christ-child. What can be more joyful than that?
Come, let us bow down in worship…(v. 6).
