I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. Psalm 27:13-14
The entire Psalm 27 is a prayer…David’s prayer of confidence. Even when his enemies advance, even in times of trouble, and even when family and friends fall away, David is sure that God is a constant light of salvation. And if God is his stronghold, what is there to fear?
But David also knows that he must wait on God. Waiting is difficult when we are in a stressful situation. After all, we want answers or solutions now! But God’s way of solving problems is different than our ways. And so we must wait…wait with expectancy that God is faithful and will provide the solutions in just the right time to further his purpose in our lives.
Prayer: God of grace and glory, you never fail me when I ask for your help. My responsibility is to offer my struggles to you through prayer and wait for your solution with an expectant heart. Amen.
