The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace. Psalm 29:11

Why is peace a blessing? Throughout the Bible, God gives peace to mankind. Even Jesus in his ministry encouraged those around him to live in peace.

Once we acknowledge a power beyond ourselves that strengthens us, we realize that we can persevere in all things. We do not have to spend countless hours battling life’s wars on our own strength. We can rely on God’s strength to empower us. Our lives then become more peaceful because the weight of the world is on the shoulders of the one who has the power of resurrection. And that is indeed a blessing!

Prayer:  Almighty God of strength and power, empower me to overcome my struggles and adversities and bless me with your peace. Amen.
