The Second Sunday of Advent
In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. John 1:4
God is light, and God is life. In choosing to believe in a power greater than ourselves, the Creator of the universe and all therein, we allow ourselves to walk in the light of truth, knowledge, and wisdom. When problems appear, we can view them in God’s light and make choices based on his truth. We are free to move forward and are no longer bound to the darkness of fear and uncertainty. When we let our lives reflect the Christ within us, we have the opportunity to live a truly abundant life full of light, peace, and love.
Each morning as the sun rises in the east, the darkness of the night disappears, and a new day begins filled with light and life. This God-given day is ours to live fully and to shine God’s light on all around us.
The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it (v. 5).
