Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. John 14:27

Babysitting my three grandchildren, ages 9-12, for a week can be hectic, especially when school, sports, and other activities fill their daily routine. Making sure everyone is where they need to be on time can cause my ordinary, peaceful day to become chaotic.

But in the evening when the children are quiet and winding down from their daily activities, a quiet confidence reminds me that I succeeded in handling the busy schedule. Moreover, in the middle of that hectic day, God was with me in the hugs, smiles, and laughter of my grandchildren. And that brings me peace.

Prayer:  Holy God, thank you for the daily reminders of the peace you bring to my life. Amen.
