Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27
The verse above is part of the Last Supper Discourse found in John 14-16. These passages detail various aspects of a relationship between a believer and Jesus.
In a relationship with God through our faith in Jesus Christ, we come to know a peace that is not found in our physical world. The peace of God is a gift, an inner rest of the spirit. This type of peace transcends all others and enables us to experience serenity even when the world around us is chaotic and troubled. This peace is real and present to us every day.
Prayer: Almighty God, I pray for peace within so that my interactions with those around me will be pleasing in your sight. Amen.
