The Lord is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him.  Exodus 15:2

Scripture tells us over and over to pray with thanksgiving and praise. As Moses and the Israelites looked back on Egypt after crossing the Red Sea, they honored God by exalting his name with praise through song.

There is something about a song. Often what we cannot express in conversation, we can express through music. Prayers of thanksgiving and praise become music to the ear of God as he continues to strengthen us, comfort us, and love us.

Prayer:  Holy God, my strength and my Redeemer, I lift up my voice in song to praise your name. Your power destroys my enemies, your comfort calms me, and your love transforms me. I will be forever grateful for your presence in my life. In your most holy name, Amen.
