The number two in numerology, which is the study of the significance of numbers, symbolizes the union of and peace between different entities. We are e in the year 2018, which according to numerology is 2. Could this be a year of peace?

The world today appears to be anything but peaceful. People of differing ethnicity are in conflict with one another, families struggle to survive, and countries are at war. Turn on the television or radio to hear the latest sensational news story of the hour. The chaos seems never ending, and it is difficult for most to find one moment of peace in their lives.

Peace is defined as a state of tranquility—the absence of conflict and fear. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to live peacefully with our neighbors, to provide without stress and worry, or to end war? Perhaps 2018 will be the year. We can hope.

Prayer:  Gracious God, use us as instruments of peace to bring an end to the overwhelming conflict in the world today. Open our minds and hearts to see each other with love and respect. And empower us to reach out to another in peace. In your most holy name, Amen.
