My soul yearns for you in the night; in the morning my spirit longs for you. When your judgments come upon the earth, the people of the world learn righteousness. Isaiah 26:9

In chapter twenty-six of Isaiah, we find a song of praise by a people who have learned to love God. As a result, they have also learned to live a righteous life.

All of us struggle between what is good and right in the eyes of God and what is not. Living a righteous life takes tenacity and perseverance. We move forward and then we stumble. And we pray for God’s forgiveness and strength, hoping to make healthier choices the next time. It is a continuous journey of discovering who we are in relationship with the God of our understanding. But take heart, God is with us all the way.

Prayer:  God of mercy and grace, have mercy on me. Forgive me when I stumble and empower me to persevere so that my life will be a testament to your love and grace. Amen.
