“So the Lord brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm, with great terror and with signs and wonders. He brought us to this place and gave us this land, a land flowing with milk and honey; and now I bring the firstfruits of the soil that you, Lord, have given me.”  Deuteronomy 26:8-10

How many times do we forget to thank God for his mercy, his second chances, or his undying love? Sometimes we get so stuck in the muck of our struggles that we forget the Lord God is moving among us and through us to bring us out of our darkness and into our land of milk and honey.

Shouldn’t we stop and give thanks? Shouldn’t we bow in awe and praise to the glories of God? And shouldn’t we be amazed by his resurrecting power that is still at work in our lives today?

Prayer:  Almighty and powerful God, I bow humbly before you and praise your power to take the messiness of my life and transform it into your work of art. Help me to be ever mindful of your power and grace at work today not only in my life but also in the world. Amen.
