How long, Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me?  How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and day after day have sorrow in my heart? How long will my enemy triumph over me?  Psalm 13:1-2

Many times through our lives we may think that God has abandoned us. We may see no way out of our struggle or have no answers to our questions. We may think that God’s silence means that he is not with us. But that would be false thinking.

Even in the midst of turmoil and chaos, God is always with us, always moving among us, always preparing the way for us, and always at work on our behalf. Therefore, we can be assured of God’s unfailing love, rejoice in our salvation, and sing God’s praises for we know that he is always good.

Prayer:  Almighty God, you are always there even when you are silent. Open my heart to trust more surely, open my eyes to see more clearly, and open my mind to know more absolutely that you are steadfast and unfailing in your love for me. Amen.
