“Hallowed be thy name.” Matthew 6:9

There are times when speaking violates the moment, and silence represents the highest respect. The word for such a moment is reverence, and the affirmation is “hallowed be thy name.” The word hallowed means sacred, holy, and entitled to religious reverence. Psalm 46:10 states, “Be still, and know that I am God.” When we come to God in prayer, we are acknowledging his divinity. As we bow before the Creator of the heavens and the earth, we are still and quiet so that we open the door for God to speak to our spirits. When we seek God’s presence with intention, we prepare the way for revelation and transformation.

Prayer:  Almighty God, I am in awe of your power, mercy, and grace. As I come to you in prayer, help me to clear my mind and be still so that I will hear your voice in my spirit. In the name of Jesus the Christ, Amen.
